Touch up & Aftercare

Touch up

Some services may require a 8-12 week touch up following the original procedure. This is normal as everyone heals differently. This will be included in the original procedure price.

Brow & Eyeliner Aftercare

  • Aftercare

Following your procedure, expect your color to be sharper, darker, and bolder than the final result. Once you have healed fully, the pigment generally will look softer and lighter. The darkest days are typically 2-4. Expect to see redness and slight swelling both in and around the brow area. Pigment (color) itself may appear warmer than expected due to red, irritated skin.

For eyeliner procedures purchase new mascara to use once eyeliner has fully healed.

  • Day 1

For brows expect a small amount of fluid, weeping or blood. Firmly blot brows and wipe with a clean gauze or slightly damp paper towel to remove. Excess fluid may dry and form scabs too early. Blotting typically only needs to be done the day of your visit, but done often throughout the day.

  • Everyday while healing

When needed cleanse with mild, gentle cleanser and pat dry with a clean paper product. (Dial or Cetaphil Gentle are good options)
Apply ‘After Inked’ with a clean q-tip or clean finger. ‘After Inked’ may be applied several times during the day, however only a THIN layer should be used at any time. You may need to apply once a day, and you may need to apply 3-4 times a day... This is dependent on your skin. A good rule of thumb is to apply whenever your skin looks or feels tight and dry. (For reference of how much cream you should be using - think the size of a grain of rice.)
Area may begin to itch and appear slightly thicker in texture before taking on a flaky, dry, narrow appearance. Do not pick any flakes, allow them to fall off completely on their own. After all peeling/flaking is done, color usually takes on a hazy, too-dull, too-light, muted appearance. We call this the “Foggy Phase”. The color will return after healing is fully complete, typically between the 3rd and 4th week.

  • For 2 weeks

Sleep on a clean pillowcase. Do not use active ingredient products on or around the eye/eyebrow area including, but not limited to: Retin A, Glycolic or Salicylic Acid. Do not use Peroxide or Neosporin on or around the area. Avoid all vigorous exercise and strenuous activity. Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight or tanning beds. Avoid facials or invasive treatments. No steam rooms/saunas or long hot showers. Avoid swimming in lakes, oceans, pools or hot tubs. Avoid all gardening and/or yard work. Avoid chemicals and irritants, particularly fine mist type products. Avoid ANY makeup directly on the treated area. Do not tint, wax, thread or tweeze eyebrows.

Lip Aftercare

  • Day of procedure

Following your procedure, expect your color to be darker and bolder than the final result. Once you have healed fully, the pigment will look softer and more sheer, generally about 20-30%.

Do not be alarmed at the amount of swelling that may occur initially. It is highly advised that you ice for 10 minutes every hour for the first several hours. Please do not put an ice pack directly on your lips, rather use a clean, damp paper towel as a barrier. Be sure to lift up the ice every couple minutes to give your lips a break.

Expect a small amount of fluid, weeping or blood. If noticed, do not wipe or scrub. Rather, blot with a damp, clean gauze to remove lymph. Excess lymph may dry and form unwanted scabs.

Gently cleanse and rinse lips before bed. Apply aftercare cream to skin once completely dry.

  • Days 1-7

Expect color to be darker than desired, especially initially as it typically intensifies. Pigment will appear warmer ( Orangey or Brick Colored) than expected initially, this will pass.

With just-washed hands, cleanse the area with a gentle, mild cleanser, and rinse well. Lips should be softly cleansed morning and night.

DO NOT SCRUB OR PICK AT ANY TIME.

Apply aftercare ointment supplied with clean q-tip or your just-washed fingertip. Ointment may be applied several times during the day, however only a THIN layer should be used at any time. A good rule of thumb is apply whenever your lips look or feel tight and dry.

Lips may begin to itch and appear slightly thicker in texture.

The skin then begins to flake and lightly peel.

  • Days 7-21

You may continue to be dry and flaky, you may keep moisturized with supplied ointment.

Do not pick any flakes, allow them to fall off on their own.

After this time, lips may take on a hazy, dull, light, muted appearance.

Color will return {bloom} after healing is complete, typically around the 3rd week.

It is normal to have lighter/less saturated areas. You may lighten up to 30% the first time through. It is common to feel like you have very dry, windburned lips after the permanent makeup application.

  • Important reminders

Be careful of salty or spicy food for the first few days after lip procedures.

Be mindful of germs from glasses and flatware.

Sleep on clean bedding, especially pillowcases.

Do not use too much aftercare ointment. Only a thin layer is needed at any time, the skin needs to “breathe” to heal properly.

Do not use Peroxide or Neosporin on any treated area.

Do not scrub or pick treated area.

Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight or tanning beds for at least 14 days.

Avoid facials, steam, heavy sweating (like at the gym) and long, hot showers for 14 days.

Avoid swimming in lakes, ocean, pools or hot tubs for at least 14 days.

It is common to feel very dry or windburned after the permanent makeup application.

After all peeling and flaking is done, you may use your preferred moisturizing lip care. One with SPF protection preferred.
